Clothing prices have become much more expensive in recent years and people are trying harder than ever to seek out ways to learn how to save money on clothes. There are several incredible tactics that a person can use while on the hunt for the best bargains on potential clothing buys. I'm going to share some of these money saving methods that are sure to keep your wallet thicker while you are shopping for clothes.

1. Shop online for the some of the best clothing deals. There are so many excellent coupon savings sites available along with discount coupon codes, it surprises me that many people do not use the excellent opportunities to save money on clothes. A great site to use for instant savings at most major retail clothing stores is big crumbs. Big crumbs is a site that is basically a huge index with an enormous amount of retailers on their website. They are paid commissions based on their referral of your business to a particular retailer. Instead of pocketing all the commission money on the purchase price with a retailer, they kick a big chunk of the commission back to you. Always use a free site like big crumbs to make any retail purchase. It's the first site you should visit before any online purchase, and its a great first thing you should learn to do while learning how to save money on clothes. Through time you'll be surprised how much the discounts on these clothing retailers can add up to. You can use these types of sites in conjunction with coupon codes to further help you save money.

2. When you enter a retail clothing store, be sure to always first shop at the discount racks and for off season clothes for next year. There is usually an incredible mark down on off season clothing and the savings can really add up.

3. Use store specials. A major retail chain often sends out free $10 gift cards to try to get you to come in their stores. Be sure that you use these cards and to use them frugally! When we use them, we always shop for discounted clearance items. Also be sure to review the clothing stores weekly mailer to find the best deals on clothing. Be warned though, many retail stores often post signs that there is a sale on virtually every rack of clothing in the store. Just because it says “sale” on the sign, doesn't always mean it is a good deal and that you will have savings on your clothing purchases.

4. If you really want to know how to save money on clothes, buy second hand clothing. This is absolutely the best way that you can save vast fortunes of money on a lifetime of clothing purchases. Many modern washing machines have steam sanitary cycles if you are worried about germs. You can always check at second hand clothing stores, but one of the best places to find absolutely dirt cheap clothing is at garage sales. Often you can find full outfits for under a couple of dollars.
