Money Saving Homemade Laundry Detergent
Making your own homemade laundry detergent is an excellent way for people to save money on the cost of detergent. You will need a bar of Ivory or Fels Naptha soap, water, borax, and Arm & Hammer Washing Soda. Fill a 5 gallon bucket halfway with good hot tap water. Add the melted soap mixture, the washing soda, and borax. Stir this mixture will until all powder is dissolved and can no longer be seen. Fill bucket all the way up to top with hot tap water. Once again stir this mixture for a bit and cover. Let the mixture sit overnight so that it will thicken. The mixture will form into a thick gel. This gel will be diluted soon in step 3. 3. Fill a used and clean laundry soap dispenser half full with the gel and then fill the rest of the container will water. Shake the now full bottle of liquid laundry detergent well and also shake before each use. This recipe makes an entire 10 gallons of money saving homemade laundry detergent for under $2.00. You may also add fragrances such as essential oil to make the laundry detergent have the fragrance that you wish. This can save you a lot of money through the years to the tune of thousands of dollars because you won't need to ever buy laundry detergent again. This works for both top load and front load washers.
