How to Cut Monthly Bills
Save Money When Buying a Sewing Machine 1. Analyze your monthly bills and try to figure out extra expenses that you can cut. Which ones do you think cost you the most and are not a necessity. Do you smoke? Do you buy expensive coffee every day? Do you eat lunch out at restaurants daily? Do you have any other bad habits that are costing you money? Consider slashing or reducing these habits. Quit smoking, make coffee at home, and learning to pack a lunch amongst other things are sure ways to help you cut your monthly bills and will help you save money. Remember that a $4 cup of coffee and a $6 daily lunch can add up to over $250-$300 depending on variance of use. 2. Look at your monthly bills such as your electric bill, car payment bill, insurance bill, cell phone bill, cable or satellite bill, or one of the many other bills. Do you think that you may be able to cut any of the expenses of these bills? Do you really need 1000 minutes or unlimited cell phone minutes? Do you think you can save money on satellite and cable television? Could you do a home energy audit and learn to save money on electricity? Have you really shopped around for insurance online that can beat your current rates? All of these things can add up to money savings. At one time I was trying to learn how to cut monthly bills, and I found that saving money on electricity was one of the best ways to do it. One of my personal examples of saving on bills would be on my electric bill. My electric bill once was nearly $500 a month, and now it is $85 because I did the audit and changed my habits. 3. Consider slowing down on the road and learning to use “hypermiling” techniques. With the unbelievable gas prices today we need to try to get the best miles per gallon (MPG) as possible. Remember that once gas is used up, we have nothing to show for it. It's basically “gone”, and it’s not something that will retain any value at all. So try to use as little fuel as possible to help you cut monthly bills. 4. Try to cook everything from scratch and make all meals at home if possible. Use online cooking sites to help you to learn how to cook. When we made this change not only did we completely dropped our $350 a month out to eat food bill. When calculated by the difference at home, we made up the cost of this with about $40 of food made from scratch. Staying away from restaurants is a sure way to money savings and cutting monthly bills. MAIN - ARTICLES - BOOKS - FRUGAL - MONEY SAVING BLOG |
