When we bank online, we want to be sure that we use https banking. This means that there is encryption between your internet browser and the bank that you are doing any online banking with. What You will need: 1. Make sure that you have a modern internet browser capable of https. This will ensure that while you are online, that https banking will be possible. Most browsers will support 128 bit encryption between your computer and the https banking computers. 2. Go to your banks web site and log in. Make sure that a pad lock graphic appears some where on your web browser. This means that https banking is now enabled and that you connection is secure between your computer and your bank. 3. When you are finished doing your online banking, exit your browser and log into any other web site. You will notice that the graphic is no longer on the browser that you had while https banking. This means that your connection is no longer encrypted and open. Most of the time when you have to log in anywhere, you will see this lock showing that you have an https secure connection.
