How to Repair A Cracked Windshield

_________________________________________________________________________________

It has happened to us all... We are driving down the road, and a small rock flies up from the car or semi in front of us. It hits our windshield, and we see a crack or damage appear.

Cracks, chips, and bullseye cracks are easy to repair, so long as you have at least a cheap crack repair kit available at many retailers so that you can fix your own windshield. Remember repairing your own windshield will save you a lot of money rather than hiring out a professional.

1. On the windshield clean the crack area of any loose glass using a razor.

2. Apply the centering crack repair tool on the windshield over the crack, chip, or bullseye. (This tool usually has suction cups or sticky tape)

3. Insert the resin into the windshield crack repair tool, and fill the crack with the resin.

4. Place the plunger piece (suction tool) into the crack repair tool. Pump and twist the plunger to help spread the resin throughout the crack in the windshield.5. Remove the repair tool completely, and place the drying film on top of the windshield crack. Leave this there until the resin has completely dried within the windshield. When it is dry, remove the drying film. It will look nearly as good as new!
