How to Make A Simple Will and Last Testament

_________________________________________________________________________________

Many people do not wish to seek a lawyer to write a last will and testament. This is usually because lawyers cost a lot of money, and people would like to save money as much as possible. There are very simple methods that one can use in order to make their own last testament. One must be careful and get details correct and everything legal so that the last will is considered legal. If you have a large wealthy estate, you should seek legal counsel. If you do not have much in wealth, a simple do it your self will can easily be made at home.

1. Title the page "Last Will and Testament" on the top. Afterwards add your personal information such as your name, address, SSN.

2. You can make this as complex or simple as you like, but you must add who the main beneficiary is on your will. It is a good idea to have an executor on this last testament. Put their name, address, and relation to you.

3. Next simply detail who gets what. This will include things like who gets your property, estate, and any items that are important. If you have young children (often everything goes with the children) be very specific on who gets the kids. Add a secondary and tertiary person as well just in case somebody cannot take on your children. Usually in a simple will and last testament, everything ends up going to just a couple of people anyway, but just clearly be detailed.

4. You will need to get two witnesses that are not on your will. Often this can be a neighbor or co-worker. Sometimes it's a good idea for everybody to sign each other's will and last testament. Before their signature, it must say: "I "neighbor's name" testify that "your name" is of sound mind when signing this will. You will need this line twice. Each person should sign it.

5. Have a notary (not required but HIGHLY suggested) witness all the signatures, and make a line for a notary signature under all the signatures. This will make your last testament legally binding in all states. Since you have saved so much money on lawyers, a small notary fee should not be much of a problem to get your last will legal.

* This would be a great thing for several co-workers to get together with and an office notary to sign.
