How to Know When You Are Ovulating

_________________________________________________________________________________

Every month, most women between the ages of 13 and 55 will experience ovulation. This is when one of her ovaries releases an egg into the fallopian tubes. This is the most fertile time in a woman's monthly cycle, and is the best time for a woman to get pregnant.

1. In the mornings take your temperature. A woman who is ovulating will usually have a slight increase in her temperature. This is usually about half a degree above "normal".

2. When you begin to ovulate, often you will experience cramping and discomfort. This is a good sign that ovulation has begun.

3. Ovulation will occur in the middle of your period cycle. For instance, if you have a 28 day cycle, your approximate day that you will ovulate is between day 12 and day 17.

4. You can also purchase an ovulation kit that will tell you exactly when you will ovulate. Though some women find these kits handy, you can save money if you just watch for clear signs of ovulation.

5. You may notice an increase of sex drive when you begin to ovulate as well.

Remember that ovulation and pregnancy are not exact. Your body is natural and has many variables. Do not think that all the data on ovulation applies to all women. As women variate in body shape, looks, hormone levels, they will also variate when they ovulate.
